Bride attends wedding in a wheelchair hours after giving birth
This is the inspiring moment a determined bride attended her wedding in a wheelchair, just hours after giving birth.
Kristel Custodio Vivar, 19, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on the very same day she was due to tie the knot with her long-term partner, Jayvee, in Quezon, the Philippines, on November 29.
The family recalled that Kristel went into labour in the afternoon and was rushed to QPHN Atimonan Hospital.
Following a successful delivery, the couple was permitted to hold a ceremony in the hospital ward, with Kristel wearing her white gown.
Footage captured by catering staff member Lois Anthony shows Kristel, still attached to an IV drip, being wheeled down the aisle by her husband as loved ones gathered around them.
Lois said: 'We were worried the wedding would be postponed because she had just given birth and we weren't sure if the doctors would let her leave the ward. To our surprise, they allowed the ceremony to proceed.
'They actually arrived at the church in an ambulance. It is very rare to see a bride arriving in an emergency vehicle rather than a traditional bridal car. We were all so happy for them. It was truly inspiring to see her continue with the wedding despite everything that had happened.'
