This is the shocking moment LPG cylinders exploded during a vehicle fire in India.

The pickup truck was carrying the gas canisters when one exploded and flames emerged near Chhuipali on National Highway 53 in Chhattisgarh on Monday.

Footage shows the vehicle engulfed in flames, with thick smoke blanketing the area and several cylinders scattered across the road.

Seconds later, the cylinders on the opposite side of the road exploded, leaving nearby locals stunned.

Reports suggested the fire may have been triggered when the cylinders rubbed against each other.

One motorist said: 'We were stranded near the truck and couldn't move forward. It was terrifying as explosions followed one after another. Thankfully, no one was wounded.'

The driver and his colleague escaped the vehicle as the blaze started. No injuries were reported, and an investigation is ongoing.

Authorities reminded drivers transporting LPG to secure cylinders properly, maintain a safe distance from sources of heat, and follow all safety protocols to prevent fires or explosions.
