Dramatic CCTV footage shows eight men enjoying their meal in Beijing when the gas stove placed on the table blew up.

Flames can be seen spreading around them, prompting the frantic diners to quickly stand and run from the dining area on December 11.

The group reportedly did not sustain any injuries in the incident.

On December 1, a cassette stove used for cooking hot pot exploded, causing one of the three diners to suffer burns to his face and minor injuries in Yantai, Shandong Province.

Authorities are now urging restaurants and families to buy certified stoves that adhere to strict safety standards.

The Beijing local standard, Safety Conditions for the Use of Bottled LPG by Catering Service Units, stipulates that catering services must not store or use LPG cylinders and gas cassette stoves in dining places. Violations of this provision will be investigated and punished by the urban management department.
