US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Hazmat Incident Triggers Evacuation Of 150 Workers In Industrial Center
Los Angeles, United States - January 15, 2026 01/15/2026 12:30 pm GMT-0800 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – About 150 people were evacuated from a commercial manufacturing business in Santa Clarita after several workers reportedly fell ill from an unknown irritant, according to witnesses and officials at the scene. The incident was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 25500 block of Avenue Stanford within the Valencia Industrial Center. Dozens of firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and declared a hazardous materials incident upon arrival. Officials confirmed that approximately 150 workers were evacuated from the facility while crews assessed potential exposure. Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were actively maintaining a perimeter around the scene as of 1:30 p.m. At least three ambulances and multiple paramedic squads were requested to respond, staging nearby to evaluate workers and transport anyone determined to be contaminated or in need of further medical care. Fire officials said the cause of the hazmat incident remains under investigation. No information has been released regarding the specific substance involved or the severity of the reported illnesses.
