Chinese residents worked together in a touching effort to recover a car from a river
This is the emotional moment that Chinese residents and rescue workers rushed to retrieve a car that had fallen into a river following a traffic accident.
On December 27, 2025, in Tianmen, Hubei, the video captured a traffic accident near Xingxing Bridge and the Ship Lock Bridge where a Wuling new energy vehicle drove into a river.
Shortly after the accident occurred, emergency rescue teams arrived at the scene and began coordinated rescue operations.
Many people stood along the riverbank and worked together using ropes and equipment to pull the submerged vehicle toward the shore.
The water level was high and the current was steady, making the operation difficult and time consuming.
Rescue workers carefully secured the vehicle while others helped stabilize the ropes to prevent the car from drifting further downstream.
After several hours of continuous effort, the vehicle was finally lifted from the water in the afternoon.
Local authorities later said that one woman who was around 30 years old was found inside the car and was confirmed dead.
The video ended with the damaged vehicle being pulled fully onto the riverbank as rescue workers and residents stood nearby while the scene was secured for further investigation.
