This is the dramatic moment a snowboarder cruised across a snow-covered road in Ohio.

Footage shows the holidaymaker dressed in dark winter clothing being pulled by a grey pickup truck, skiing through streets near the Ohio University campus on January 25.

As the vehicle moved through deep snow, the snowboarder glided smoothly over several inches of fresh accumulation, maintaining balance and kicking up light powder sprays.

The winter storm has blanketed much of the US, caused widespread power outages, and disrupted travel across the Northeast and South.

Local media reported that at least 29 people have been killed across the country due to the storm.

Since Friday, more than 20,000 flights have been cancelled as a result of the freak weather.
