Athens, Ohio, USA – Footage shared online by X user Storm & Train Chaser Emerson Young shows an unusual scene unfolding near the Ohio University campus as heavy snow covered the area on January 25, 2026. Young, a 22-year-old Ohio University meteorology student, National Weather Service Cleveland weather spotter, and storm and rail chaser, recorded the video at around 3:00 PM local time near University Terrace.

The brief vertical video shows a person in dark winter clothing being towed behind a gray pickup truck, identified as a Ford F-150 or a similar model. The vehicle moves at a slow pace along a street or campus path buried in snow, headlights switched on, while the individual grips the back of the truck and rides on either cross-country skis or a snowboard.

As the truck pushes forward through the deep snowfall, the skier slides steadily over several inches of fresh powder, shifting weight and leaving light sprays of snow behind. Tracks from the truck’s tires cut through the surface, only to begin filling in again as snowfall continues.

Surroundings in the clip include snow-covered campus and nearby residential streets, Ohio University buildings, bare trees bent under the weight of snow, street lights, a green “UNIVERSITY TERRACE” sign, a stop sign, fire hydrants, railings, and small groups of people watching or recording from sidewalks. Gray, overcast skies hang overhead as snow continues to fall.
