A dramatic video has emerged from China of firemen rescuing a young boy wedged between two rocks in a public square in Shandong Province.

According to local reports, the seven-year-old boy fell into the gap between the rocks while playing in the square late last month and, despite their best efforts, his parents were unable to pull him out.

Police officers and firemen were able to pull the boy from the gap by tearing his coat off and spreading grease on his body.

The boy survived the accident without any injuries.
