Minority parties disrupt South African electoral commission’s media briefing alleging irregularities

Anwar Adams, leader of the Democratic Independent party, disrupted the final IEC (Independent Electoral Commission) media briefing in Cape Town . Adams and Yusuf Kenoli from the National Freedom Party (NFP) heckled Michael Hendrickse, the chief electoral officer in the Western Cape, as he closed the final media briefing.

Adams and Kenoli accused the IEC of irregularities and of colluding with bigger parties. Hendrickse speaking to the media on the side of the event stated that 44 ballots which had been tampered with had been quarantined and will be investigated.
