At least 5 people were killed after a chemical factory exploded in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Panjin in Liaoning Province on January 15 shows the explosion in Haoye Chemical Factory shattering the glass window of a nearby house and terrifying a couple of cows.

The closed doors of a hair salon were also pushed open by the blast wave.

Massive flames and thick smoke were seen rising up from the factory.

According to reports, the explosion happened when the alkylation plant was being repaired.

At least 5 people were killed, 34 were injured, and 8 were missing.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
