Two women were rescued after climbing out of a burning high-rise building in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Changsha in Hunan Province on March 27 shows bright flames and black smoke coming out of Hongyi Building and two women climbing out of the windows to escape.

After the two women landed on a platform, a property management employee ran to save them.

According to a merchant inside the building, the fire burst out at around 10 am and firefighters and ambulances quickly rushed to the scene.

The local fire department immediately dispatched five fire and rescue stations, 14 fire engines, and 112 firefighters to tackle the blaze.

The fire was fully extinguished at 10:45 am. Only one person suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage is currently under investigation.
