Most flood-driven escaped crocodiles successfully captured in China
A total of 59 out of the over 70 escaped crocodiles have been safely recaptured in southern China.
The video was filmed in Maoming City in Guangdong Province on September 12.
The search perimeter has now been expanded to 5 kilometres to ensure the safety of the general public.
Between September 9 and September 11, Maonan District in Maoming City was battered by heavy rains, leading to the collapse of a boundary wall at a crocodile farm in Beijie Luo Village. This calamity resulted in the escape of more than 70 crocodiles.
Following the breakout, local police, fire departments, water services, emergency services, and a specialized crocodile capture team were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The responders launched an intense 24-hour carpet search. Furthermore, to safeguard residents in the vicinity, 51 lookout points were established, and 33 patrol teams were organized for enhanced monitoring.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
