Two heroic delivery men rescued a driver from a blazing car explosion in northern China.

The video was filmed in Tangshan City in Hebei Province on November 7. Two delivery riders, Cheng Xuehai and Yang Liu managed to extract a driver with hair and clothing aflame from a blazing car.

Shortly thereafter, a traffic officer arrived at the scene. Together, they succeeded in dousing the flames engulfing the driver. Owing to their prompt action, the driver sustained only minor facial injuries. Yang Liu, in the course of the rescue, suffered scalds to his hand.

According to reports, the white car waiting at a red light suddenly exploded. The explosion sent its sunroof skywards and set the vehicle ablaze with smoke and flames.

After ensuring the driver received medical care, Cheng and Yang continued with their delivery work as if it were any other day. It was only after their station manager learned of the event online and sought confirmation from them, did they recount the episode.

Both delivery men remained composed about their acts of bravery. They explained that their immediate thought upon seeing the car on fire was to rescue the occupant, without a second thought for anything else.

“Our instinct was to get the person out first, then carry on with our jobs,” one deliveryman stated.

Cheng Xuehai, aged 41, and Yang Liu, aged 29, have been lauded for their courageous act. Their delivery platform rewarded them with a cash bonus of 2,000 yuan (£225) each, the honour of being named "Pioneer Riders", and inclusion in the reserve station manager list.

Additionally, Yang Liu, being younger, was granted a chance to pursue free university education through the "Riders Go to College" scheme, a collaborative initiative between the delivery platform and the National Open University.
