Footage of the picturesque village of Grasmere in the Lake District under heavy snowfall on Wednesday. Cold weather is set to continue in the UK but the snowy conditions can be more lethal than fairytale.

One driver was killed on Monday in Sussex, UK as she drove along an icy road - with 'arctic' level deterioration in the weather and temperature predicted over the weekend.

The picturesque village of Grasmere in the Lake District had heavy snow this afternooon and evening. The village looked like a fairyland as winter proper set in and temperatures dropped.

The cold weather is set to continue and sunshine is forecast for the weekend promising some spectacular views of snowy capped mountains and blue skies.
