A beautiful video has emerged from the Lake District, UK of a rare weather phenomenon called a fog bow.

The stunning clip was filmed above Grasmere (lake) in the English county of Cumbria.

The rare spectacle is similar to a rainbow but appears in fog or mist rather than rain showers.

However, in a fogbow, the water droplets in the mist are too small to refract and reflect light, so the arc appears to be white, with hints of colour.

This rare spectacle was captured over Grasmere, in Cumbria and was just one of many beautiful scenes created as fog fizzled away in the morning sunshine.
