A car plunged into a massive sinkhole that opened up on a road in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Baoding in Hebei Province on January 5, shows a white car getting trapped in a large hole in a road, with the front of it being lifted upwards.

A section of the road suddenly collapsed on Jingbai Avenue in Baigou New City. A car, in travel, plunged into the sinkhole, with nearly half of its body submerged.

On January 6, local traffic police responded, stating that the vehicle had been successfully lifted out of the sinkhole, and the occupants were unharmed.

Authorities from the local comprehensive administrative law enforcement bureau revealed that they have reported the incident to relevant departments, investigating the cause, and promptly initiating road repairs.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
