A second avalanche crashed down a mountain in Utah while rescue teams were searching for a missing skier.

Footage shows the snow cascading down the slopes in Mountain Canyons in Park City on January 31.

Rescue teams later found the body of Kurt Damschroder, 57, who was killed in an avalanche the day before on January 30 in an area known as Square Top.

Summit County Search and Rescue said they received a call about the incident and they began to survey the area with the help of Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement: "One of the skiers was caught in the avalanche. The friend was able to dig to the victim and attempted lifesaving efforts.

"Because of the extreme avalanche danger in the area the friend had to leave. The extreme avalanche danger prevented rescuers from getting into the area before nightfall."

Rescue operations resumed the next day, when the team was able to capture the video of the second avalanche.

They said it shows the danger of "the avalanches we are dealing with currently throughout northern Utah."
