A crazy video has emerged from Australia of a science-mad dad exploding a chocolate Easter egg and a chocolate bunny.

Jacob Strickling, who is a science teacher on the Central Coast of New South Wales, fills the chocolates with oxygen and hydrogen and then ignites them with a party sparkler.

The very loud explosions blow the egg and bunny into hundreds of tiny pieces across the room.

The Hydrogen gas is produced by reacting the aluminium foil from the Easter Bunny with a concentrated solution of caustic soda. Oxygen gas is produced by adding Hydrogen Peroxide to Manganese Dioxide. These two gases are then pumped into the chocolate eggs and ignited using a party sparkler. The resulting explosions blew the egg and bunny into hundreds of bits of chocolate across the room. When hydrogen and oxygen explode in this way they actually combine to form water!
