Air Ambulance responds to HMP Birmingham Incident
The Midlands Air Ambulance responded to an incident at HMP Birmingham in Winson Green. The specialist crew landed in a nearby field and were transferred to the prison that has been dogged by 2 riots over the last 2 years. The flying doctors were on the scene for approx 30-minutes but no person was flown to hospital. It is believed at least one person was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by land ambulance. It is not known what the incident related to and if the injured person was an inmate or prison officer.
