This 14ft long python had a tug-of-war with two men - after it was caught hiding inside a pick-up truck.

The enormous reptile slithered inside the black Isuzu after it was parked up in Ang Thong, Thailand, on April 24.

Driver Rueng Keawwiset, 61, was alerted to the unwanted passenger after his nephew sat on their front porch with a beer and saw the snake's tail.

Police arrived with local snake catchers and were seen trying to wrestle the python from its hiding place above the rear wheel.

But the beast put up a fight - winning the tug-of-war until the rescue worker grabbed its head and pulled it out of the back of the truck.

Rueng said: ''i just drove home from work with my nephew and we had sat down to drink beer. He saw the snake glide up into the truck. We checked inside and saw the snake's skin so called police.''

Staff from the Por Tek Tung rescue foundation spent 30 minutes grappling with the snake before it was yanked free. It measured more than four metres long and weighed 10kg. The snake was released back into the wild unharmed.
