This handsome young Sumatran tiger has been moved to a new home as part of a breeding programme designed save the critically endangered species.

Achilles, who already weighs an impressive 125kg aged two, has been sunbathing in the British summer heat at Howletts Wild Animal Park near Canterbury, Kent.

The Sumatran tiger is the only surviving population of a group of tigers that lived in the Sunda Islands off Indonesia - with between 400 to 500 left in the wild.
