A crane previously used at the busy docks at NDSM wharf Amsterdam has been converted into the luxury Crane Hotel Faralda. Built by Hensen in 1950 the crane was no longer used after bankruptcy in 1984. Edwin Kornmann Rudi gained permission to turn it into a hotel and it was dismantled and taken to Franeker where most of the work took place. Later re-assembled it now features three suites, a panoramic lounge and spar at the top.
