Adorable cat joins in with worshippers at Buddhist temple praying for good luck
This adorable little cat joined in with worshippers at a Buddhist temple praying for good luck on New Years Eve.
The two-year-old cat, named Wan-Suk, put her paws together for blessings from the monks in a Buddhist watch night service at Bhasicharoen Temple in Samut Prakan province, Thailand.
She had her own copy of the prayer book, which she appeared to be diligently reading through.
Wan-Suk was even wearing a miniature white cotton shirt and had a ceremonial piece of string attached to her head, just like the dozens of people joining in with the religious ritual.
The string is believed to connect the person to Buddha and symbolises the good fortune they will receive in the year ahead.
Wan-Suk's owner brought her to join the popular Buddhist ceremony believing that she will stay healthy and stay with them for a long time as a part of family.
The owner, Nai Tanyaras, said: ''I want my cat to receive good luck, good health and blessings too.
''I have made everything for her, including the white shirt. She looked very cute.
''I really believe that if she comes with me to the ceremony and joins in with the prayers, she will have a good year. She looked like she was concentrating.''
Cats and other animals are not normally allowed inside the prayer area of the Buddhist temple but an exception was made for Wan-Suk after her owner asked for permission from the monks.
