Dog rescued after getting stuck in iron gate while trying to follow her owner
This is the heartwarming moment a dog with a splint was rescued after being trapped in a gate for four hours.
The mutt’s owner Nid Piriyasook, 62, left home before the dog excitedly tried to jump through the gate and follow her car in Chonburi, eastern Thailand yesterday (Mon) morning.
Nid arrived at her local Buddhist temple but after an hour became concerned that her dog Laew-tae – who normally chases behind her and arrives at the religious building for breakfast – was nowhere to be seen.
She decided to head back home and was shocked to see her disabled dog stuck between the narrow bars of the house iron gate where he had been stuck.
The owner called the Sawang Pratheep Sri Racha rescue service for help late in the morning after she was unable to get her free.
She said: “I was trying to push her from behind but her body did not move at all. I could see that she became sore, so it was better for me to call the rescue foundation.”
Laew-tae caused added concern for the rescuers as her back leg was broken and had been splinted from a recent car accident. They planned to rescue her by trying not to hurt her leg as much as possible.
The officer used a garden hoe to widen the iron bars while the owner and her neighbour slowly raised the body of the female dog up to the wider space.
They spent about 30 minutes saving the four-year-old dog from the house gate before she was brought to the local animal clinic with her owner.
Nid added ‘’I need to be more careful next time. I should look for my dogs and wait for them if they want to follow with me.’’
