This is an incredible and unique way of making Parottas (Flat Breads) where a chef is seen tossing a dough of bread and throwing it 20-ft higher like frisbee to his co-chef standing at least eight to ten metres away from him.
The Parotta Maker doesn’t even look at his partner as he tosses and throws the dough towards him.
The second chef then catches hold of the Parotta and puts it into a hot frying pan to make Parottas.
The throwing and catching capability of both the owner is so good that none of the Parottas go a miss.
The roadside hotel which is situated in Velankanni in Nagapattanam district of Tamil Nadu in southern India has made it a must visit destination where people come to see their food prepared in such a unique style.
The second chef which holds the catch which his partner throws says, ‘I was not good at cricket but I am good at catching the doughs. I practised a lot and now it has become a habit.’
The person who kneads the dough into Parottas say, ‘I am in a robotic mode, I don’t even look at my partner when I throw the dough towards him.’
The incident was filmed on 25th March 2019 in Velankanni in Tamil Nadu, south India.
