Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged from China of a man smashing parts of a bus and threatening the driver with a fire extinguisher after missing his stop.

The video, shot in Fujian Province in late December 2014, shows the man asking the driver, Mr Zhang, to pull over between stops after realising he missed his. When the driver refused he got angry and started hitting doors and windows in the bus, threatening to beat the driver.

The driver, Mr Zhang, then stopped with the doors closed and called the police. Afraid of being arrested, the man jumped out of a window and fled.

He is said to have been caught by the police four days later and is still facing charges.
