True king of the jungle! Lion roars out across Kenyan savannah
I shot this video after the rains last week in Maasai Mara. It is of two coalition partner male lions, Olbarnoti (the lion roaring) and Ololparpit (roaring in the background) roaring very loudly. They are doing this to re-ascertain their dominance by letting other lions in the neighbouring areas know they are around. Normally, they also mark their territory on trees and bushes, but as the rain washes this away, they are roaring to let the other lions know of their presence.
