Gripped by an extremely rare disease, family of a 13-year-old Indian boy is urging doctors and organisations to treat him, in order to make the patient's life better. Lalit Patidar, from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, suffers from Hypertrichosis or Warewolf Syndrome- the more common name.
The disease has left the 13-year-old's body blanketed with hair. Hairs up to six centimetres of lenght covers his face, often making it difficult for him to breathe.

"The hair enters my mouth, making it difficult for me to consume food. Hairs also enter the eyes and ears, causing irritations," Lalit tells Newslions Media.
He says he has less friends compared to children of his age and seldom gets out of the house. "People make fun of me because of the hairs. They call me monkey," a dejected Lalit says.
Bhanwar Lal, Lalit's 61-year-old grandfather shares the latter was just two months old when they took him to Udaipur, Rajasthan, for treatment. "Seeing him, the doctors formed a panel. They stated the disease was incurable," Bhanwar Lal says.

Lal says the doctors told the family Lalit's disease was partly due to lack of hormones. However, Dr. Ashwini Dash, a renowned plastic surgeon from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, feels otherwise.

Dash says the condition is treatable. "He [Lalit] will require whole body epilation by laser," Dash opines, adding, "It will require multiple sittings and will take a minimum of a year's time."

Dash added, "Anything in between 30-50 sittings will be required."

An online crowdfunding campaign has been started on Ketto to raise Rs 1,000,000 required for treatment
