This waterfall produced mesmerising cascades of water after monsoon rains battered northern Thailand.

The Chat Trakan waterfall located in Phitsanulok, lower northern Thailand, is well known for its seven levels waterfall flowing over the cliff which is surrounded by dense forest.

Footage from August 29 shows the stream cascades for 15 metres in two directions onto the first basin after constant downpours from tropical storm Podul battered the province.

The rising water level is seen steadily flowing through wooden bridges and pathways across the riverbed and creates beautiful scenery, flooding the surrounding area.

Wachirasak Nakwattanaset, chief of Chat Trakan National Park, said: ''It's been raining for many days in the Chat Trakan National Park and this caused the amount of water flowing down to the first level waterfall.

''It has become a rare and beautiful phenomenon which could only occur in rainy seasons. It is also not harmful because the water level will keep decreasing.''
