A driver was horrified after finding a 10ft long python curled up in her car engine.

Sucharat Sangkhing went to start the white Toyota which was parked on her driveway in Saraburi, central Thailand last Thursday (October 31) morning.

But there were strange noises coming from under the bonnet. Sucharat pulled up the hood and noticed the reptile curled up next to the water tank.

The driver called the rescue service who dragged out the reptile, as neighbours gathered round to see the serpent.

Suracharat believes that it's a good omen to find the snake in her car.

She said: "I was about to start the engine but I suspected there was a problem. I opened the hood and was shocked to see the huge python. I shut it immediately before I contacted the rescue team to catch it.

"I will try my luck by buying a lottery that has the same numbers as my license plate.

''It's unusual to encounter a python so I believe this is a sign of good luck.''

The python was put into the sack and released back into the wild.
