An 8-foot-long python was rescued from inside the engine of an indigo car in east India on October 21.

The reptile was found in the car in Saraikela city, Jharkhand by mechanics after it caused the engine to stall.

When the driver of the car, Dr Manoj Kumar, turned on his engine, a loud noise and smoke started coming out of the car bonnet. Hearing the noise, he immediately turned it off again.

Later, when the engine of the car was checked, the python was discovered and snake rescuer Chotu Srivastava was called.

According to Srivastava, the python was stuck inside the engine and took around an hour to rescue it.

With the help of locals, the python was taken out of the engine via the suspension and was handed over to the forest department.
