A manhole exploded sending a boy two-metres-high into the air after he threw a lit match inside it in northern China.

The CCTV video, filmed in the city of Baoding in Hebei Province on November 29, shows a boy dropping the lit match down into the hole.

The manhole then exploded, sending the boy into the air. He can be seen flipping in the air before slamming back onto the ground.

Another boy trying to run away laid down when the manhole cover dropped onto the ground.

Fortunately, the two boys both stood up by themselves and were not injured seriously.

当天，涿州市联合小区壹号院内发生了爆炸，男孩瞬间被强大的气浪击飞，腾空旋转随后倒地，幸运的是，男孩缓过神之后便自行站了起来，并无大碍。
附近很多居民都感受到了这突如其来的“爆炸”，据小区居民了解，污水井内是个化粪池，被炸飞的井盖已经换上了新的。但是现场依然可以看到井盖落下砸地的痕迹。当时爆炸发生后，原先的井盖就剩中间这一圈，铁丝都崩坏了，路边的石子蹦到孩子的脸上，都流血了。
据查，原来是小孩在玩耍时，把擦燃的火柴扔进了污水井盖中，不料发生了这样的一幕。居民们都表示这个事情就得重视一下，小区孩子每天都在这玩，太危险了。

小区内的窖井和化粪池是为了方便污水排放，而不让粪便等污物堵塞污水管道。窖井中的污物在沉淀的过程中，容易产生大量的沼气，而沼气又属于易燃气体，在污水管道这个相对封闭的环境里，被鞭炮、烟头等明火点燃后，极易发生爆炸，从而引发事故。
