A car lost control and smashed into the fence around a family's home - with a 'lucky tree' protecting them from further damage.

CCTV footage shows the white sedan losing control some 100 meters away before it skidded and slid on its side.

The vehicle crashes first into two big trees on the verge before spinning onto the opposite side, throwing up a cloud of dust. The trees are next to a Buddhist shrine, which the owners believe helped to protect their own car from being hit.

The incident was captured by security camera outside the home of Wongsaton Hintong in Khon Kaen, north eastern Thailand, on April 12.

Wongsaton said: "The huge trees have protected my car and my home. I hope people will drive more safely so they don't get into accidents like these."

No one was hurt in the incident including the driver emerged from his car shaken but unharmed.
