A few good samaritans are intent on helping the starving monkeys during the coronavirus lockdown in India.

The incident took place at Tezpur of Sontipur district in northeastern India's Assam on April 24.

At a time when people are abandoning their pets, stray animals are struggling to find food during the lockdown, however, some people are doing their bit to help.

The visual shows a troop of monkeys gathered around a man leaping at the chunks of food tossed towards them.

Amid the nationwide lockdown, all hotels, lodges, and roads in the area have been closed till May 3.

Hundreds of monkeys have been left without food and water for the entire lockdown.

The food bits include bananas and various fruits.

Several responsible citizens have come forward to help the animals who are starving on the streets during the lockdown.
