A descent into a dry stone lined water well believed to have been sunk in the 17th century.
The well is approximately 40 feet deep with 3 feet of clear water at the bottom.
It is believed to have been capped off near the end of the 19th century then brought back into use as one of three public wells still in use when mains water arrived in the village in the 1940's.
