Divers shocked by dying coral reef covered by industrial waste in Thailand
Divers were shocked after they found coral reef dying and covered in dirt from where waste had been dumped in the sea.
Environmentalist Suppakit Leeyeamsakul went to explore the coral reef in Thai gulf in Songkhla, southern Thailand but was horrified at the damage.
Footage from yesterday morning shows the once colourful and bright coral reef covered in mud and dirt.
The environmentalist is now demanding the responsibility from the authorities as he believed it was caused by the lake dredging project.
He said: ''There has been lake dredging happening nearby and I believe they had brought the dirt and dumped it into the sea.
"I think the related authorities should be more responsible as they are destroying the beautiful sea life."
