Two men rescued a monitor lizard that was stuck in a narrow gap between two buildings.

Phonthep Keawchin, 25, and Chirawat Aimlamai, 26, volunteered to help rescue the reptile inside their neighbour's house in Ang Thong, central Thailand on July 20.

They had to smash the concrete cement wall to reach the poor reptile that was stuck in the damp drain below.

The 6.5ft long wild animal was finally freed after the men spent more than an hour chipping cement away from the drainage.

The monitor lizard was later taken into a big sack to be released back into the woods far from the village.
