Three people were injured after a drunk driver lost control while travelling the wrong way on a road causing a head-on collision.
Amnuai Inthachai, 27, said he had been partying with friends the night before and was still intoxicated the following morning.
Shocking dashcam footage shows how Amnuai smashed into an oncoming pickup truck on the highway in Chachoengsao, central Thailand.
Motorist Sophon Ubon, 35, witnessed the crash in front of his car. He said he was able to avoid the collision before pulling over to help.
He gave first aid to the driver in front of him Somchai Charoensuk, 51,who was heading to work with his wife Somnuek Saiphan, 49, when they were hit by the drunk driver.
Somchai said: "I tried to veer sharply to miss the approaching car but it was too quick for me.''
The counterflowing driver Amnuai Inthachai, 27, said he was too drunk and did not understand what caused the crash.
He said: "I was having a party with friends last night, but I did not know that I driving the wrong way."
All of the people in the other cars were injured except for the drunk man. They were taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
Bang Pakong district police officers arrested Amnuai on suspicion of drunk driving and he was detained at the police station.
Traffic officer Arnon Wanitpongpichet said: ''We immediately suspected that driver was drunk and he said he had been drinking a lot with his friends. The level of alcohol in his blood and CCTV from the road cameras will affect what charges are made.''
