Police in Indonesia Clean Mosques to Prevent the Spread of Covid-19

Dozens of members of the traffic police from the South Sulawesi Police Traffic Directorate clean up the HM ASYIK mosque located on Jalan AP Pettarani, Makassar city, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, Friday, September 18 2020.

The cleaning of the mosque is carried out to make the mosque clean so that it is comfortable to use for worshiping Muslims in Makassar City. In addition, regular cleaning of mosques is also intended to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Head of Sub-district Traffic Police of South Sulawesi Police, Commissioner M Yusuf Usman said, "the activity was carried out to commemorate the 65th anniversary of our traffic police cleaning the mosque. We cleaned the mosque so that it could be used for prayer".

"The hope is that by cleaning the mosque we will increase our concern and love for the mosque as a place of worship," he said. (*)
