Firefighters rescued a man trapped in a manhole after driving school students spotted his fingers poking out of the cover in southwestern China.

In the video, filmed in the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province on November 18, two fingers are seen poking out of the holes on a manhole cover in a driving school.

After the driving school students called the police, firefighters arrived to rescue the man.

The firemen were seen using tools to open the manhole cover and then pulled out a man who claimed to be a rubbish collector.

After around half an hour, the rubbish collector was rescued successfully.

According to reports, the rubbish collector went into the sewer from a riverside and got trapped inside for around three or four days.

The police are investigating the case. The video was provided by local media with permission.
