Huge Elephant Bull quietly crosses carpark and frightens tourists before taking a dip
African Savanna Elephants (Loxodonta africana) love water – not only to drink, but also to play in, and to cool off on hot days , either by submerging if the water is deep enough, or by spraying themselves with trunkfuls of it. This large bull Elephant quietly crossed the carpark at Transport Dam, frightening the young women in the car next door – they had been standing next to their vehicle, which is strictly prohibited in Kruger National Park. The driver of the next car along was also worried and began to move his vehicle. The big bull quietly crossed to the edge of the water, then submerged himself with obvious enjoyment.
