70 year old landmark in Leeds undergoes demolition

A landmark in Leeds has seen it's final days after more than almost 70 years as demolition continues. The giant gas holder in Armley is located next to the Gyratory and was built in the 1950's. Demolition began earlier this year but due to contaminated waste inside the storage tank, had to be postponed until the waste was removed and is believed that over 300 tonnes of was extracted from the tank. Excavators with powerful jaws were used for tearing down the steel structure.
