Anxious Indonesian villagers take shelter as volcanic material rains down from Mount Sinabung eruption
Mount Sinabung in Indonesia erupted again on Sunday night (June 6), sending volcanic ash and sand raining down on surrounding villages.
This footage from a live broadcast on Instagram shows villagers in the Karo Regency of North Sumatra taking shelter as the volcanic material begins to clatter against their roofs.
According to the filmer, locals were awoken around midnight by the sound of small rocks hitting their homes.
Eruptions from Mount Sinabung have claimed the lives of at least 23 people since 2014.
