Around 500 far-left protesters took to the streets of Connewitz in Leipzig, Germany to protest against perceived police repression.

This comes after numerous police raids on left-wing activist houses in the city and also in response to the imprisonment of an anti-fascist activist named Lina since November of 2020, who was accused of being the ring leader of a militant anti-fascist group in Leipzig.

Despite the high police presence, the demo passed off peacefully.

Video also shows a vandalised police station in Connewitz. Anti-police graffiti could be seen on windows of the station that had also been smashed.

The station is regularly attacked due to its location in Connewitz, which is an area known for it militant left wing political scene.
