Mount Etna in Sicily put on another impressive spectacle this morning by shooting fountains of lava high into the night sky.

The volcanic material spewed from the Southeast Crater reaching a height of 800 meters.

This was the 47th eruption from the Sicilian volcano in 2021.

A new eruption at Etna volcano took place during the night between 8 and 9 July, after about 48 hours from the last event, once again, the Southeast Crater erupted, the highest jets of the lava fountain have reached 800 meters, the eruptive column was carried by the wind to the southeast, a massive rain of ash fell on the town of Zafferana Etnea near Catania. This is the forty-seventh eruptive episode in 2021, and seems not to want to stop.
