A devastating fire wreaked havoc on locals and caused extensive damage to property in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 14. The incident took place in Chhatarpur.

Visuals feature massive flames scaling from several shops in broad daylight while plumes of thick clouds of black smoke keep billowing and soon engulf the sky. Within moments, a panic-stricken crowd gathers in the vicinity to witness the disaster while the cops evacuate the area to avert any tragedy. After a while, the fire tenders arrive to douse the blaze while the structures get charred due to the raging fire.

The fire broke out in Krishna sweet shop, following which four cylinders exploded inside the store, which engulfed the dentist's clinic atop the structure and some more shops adjacent to it. Within moments, the cops informed the electricity department to cut the power line to avoid any mishap and alerted the fire tenders.

After a while, the firefighters reached the spot and doused the blaze within 2.5 hours while the fire left a trail of destruction and gutted numerous shops. The loss incurred by the properties is yet to be ascertained, while no casualties were reported from the spot.
