Footage showed a bizarre head-shaped hot air balloon take off from a park in central Tokyo, Japan, on Friday (July 16).

The giant balloon slowly rose into the sky from Yoyogi Park at around 8am local time.

It was a surreal art installation called ‘Masayume’ meaning ‘dream come true’ by the Japanese art collective Mé.

It drifted over the capital city for the rest of the day as baffled locals watched.
