Willie Wagtails (Rhipidura leucophrys) are probably Australia’s most loved birds, always on the move, chattering and wagging their tails from side-to-side on landing. They are confiding and plucky, often approaching people and animals closely for food or to collect fur for their nests. We began feeding visiting Willie Wagtails mealworms (Tenebrio molitor). One of the adults began taking mealworms from our hands and was soon followed by its mate. This video shows a typical mealworm feeding session with our Willie Wagtails.
