Priest in South India takes a holy dip known as 'Paprika Bath'
According to the Tamil Calendar, Aadi is an auspicious month when many religious festivals are held.
For this instance, at the 'Periyakaruppasamy' temple located in Dharmapuri, India, the priest must take a holy bath in paprika known as 'Paprika Bath.'
During the 'Paprika Bath,' 108 kilograms of paprika is dissolved in water and poured on the priest.
Before the ceremony, the priest stands on the sword, giving holy advice to the people around him. God was offered Suruttu (a country-made cigarette) and alcoholic beverages.
