A two-year-old calf accidentally fell into a 60-foot-deep well near Natham in Dindigul district on Tuesday. The incident occurred at a farm owned by Subbiah (64), son of Ramasamy, a resident of Uluppakudi, while he was grazing cattle.

The well had water up to a depth of 20 feet, and the calf remained unharmed, standing in a corner of the well. On receiving information, Natham Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and, using ropes and a net, safely rescued the calf after an hour-long operation.
